Aerobic Swims

History
This is an Australia wide competition of 62 timed swims, over the period of a calendar year.

The ‘National Aerobic Award’ goes to the club with the highest average points per club member.

In 2009 our club came in 26th of 78 clubs, with 1200 points. The top 3 clubs scored 7+000, 5+000, and 4+000 points.

Our club has won the State Branch’s Aerobic Trophy, called the ‘Patron’s Cup’, since its inception.

106 people Australia wide completed all swims in 2009.  At the State level, there are currently 3 South Australians who have completed all the swims.  This might indicate the difficulty of the task. Swimming 5 lots of 800 butterfly is not for the faint-hearted, more for the determined.

To do the entire program requires a training partner to time you, and an additional session per week of swimming.

Our club presents trophies to the top point scorers: male and female, and to the most improved swimmer.
